Best Surf Spots Around Tamraght & Taghazout
Discover Morocco’s legendary right‑handers and hidden gems
Morocco’s Atlantic coastline is famous for its long right‑hand point breaks, mellow beach breaks, and consistent winter swells. Tamraght and Taghazout, two surf villages just a few minutes apart, are the perfect base to explore them all.
Here’s a guide to some of the best surf spots near our camp — whether you’re a beginner, intermediate, or advanced surfer:
🌊 Banana Beach (Aourir)
Just south of Tamraght, Banana Beach is one of the most popular spots for beginners and longboarders. Soft waves break over sand, making it a friendly place to learn and practice. On bigger days, it offers longer rides perfect for improvers.
🌊 Crocro Beach (Devil’s Rock)
Named after the big rock on the beach that looks like a devil’s head! Crocro is great for all levels, with playful peaks and sandy bottom. Morning sessions here often bring glassy conditions.
🌊 Panorama Point
A mellow right‑hand point break in front of Taghazout. Perfect for longboarders and intermediates looking to practice riding green waves. Works best on small to medium swells.
🌊 Anchor Point
The crown jewel of Taghazout. A world‑class, long right‑hander that can deliver rides of several hundred meters on good days. For confident surfers only, especially when it gets overhead.
🌊 Mysteries
Just north of Anchor Point, Mysteries is faster and hollower. It’s a fun spot for advanced surfers who like more punchy waves and short rides.
🌊 Killer Point
Named for the killer whales sometimes spotted offshore! Killer Point is powerful and long, best surfed on a mid to high tide. For experienced surfers only.
🌊 Other secret spots
Beyond these well‑known breaks, there are many lesser‑known points, reefs, and beach breaks around Tamraght, Taghazout, and further north and south. Our local surf guides know when and where to go, depending on swell, tide, and wind — so you get the best waves without the crowds.
